But we cannot create learning opportunities that are too relevant and rigorous.
So regardless of where each of us might be in the pursuit of these ideals, we can all think of a lesson or activity that would be better if we would step it up a notch.
Write about what you are going to do to improve the relevance and rigor of mathematics learning in your classroom. Address each of the following questions in your writing:
- What is the first step?
- What will it look like / sound like?
- What do you need to get to quadrant D in the Rigor/Relevance Framework?
- Where might you find what you need?
- How will you measure your success?
