Receiving Credit for CCIU Online Courses

... for a CPE Credit or Act 48 Course
... for an Act 45 Course
... for a non-credit workshop

For CPE Credit Courses and Act 48 Eligible Courses and Workshops:

At the end of each Act-48-eligible Moodle Course or Workshop there is a Module titled “Initiate Processing of Act 48 Hours,” accompanied by the description, “In order to receive Act 48 hours, BOTH the Course Evaluation and Process Act 48 Hours activities shown below must be completed.”

The Course Evaluation (or Workshop Evaluation) is required by PDE for all Act 48 Professional Development events. The "Initiate Processing of Act 48 Hours" activity is the last activity in a Course or Workshop and it serves three purposes:
  1. It queries the Moodle system to assure that all minimum Course / Workshop requirements have been met (required assignments, etc have been submitted, the Evaluation has been completed, a minimum amount of time has been spend logged into the Moodle Course or Workshop, a minimum overall course percentage grade has been earned).
  2. If the participant has met the minimum requirements for completion, Moodle notifies the registrar via email to inform them that the participant has successfully completed the Course or Workshop. This initiates the processing of Act 48 hours by the registrar.
  3. If the participant has met the minimum requirements for completion, the participant may opt to print a Certificate documenting their completion of the Course / Workshop. This is not an official document, but serves as a final confirmation for the participant that they have initiated Act 48 credit processing.

For Act 45 Eligible Courses:
At the end of each Act-45-eligible Moodle course or Workshop there is a Module titled “Initiate Processing of Act 45 Hours” accompanied by the description “In order to receive Act 45 hours, BOTH the Course Evaluation and Process Act 45 Hours activities shown below must be completed.”

The Course Evaluation is required by PDE for all Act 45 Professional Development events. The Process Act 45 Hours activity is the last activity in a Course or Workshop and it serves three purposes:

For Non-Act 48 and Non-Act 45 Workshops:
At the end of a Workshop that is not eligible for any graduate credit or Act 48 hours, there is a Module titled “Workshop Wrap-up” accompanied by the description “Please complete the Workshop Evaluation to provide us with feedback about the Workshop, and then click on Process Workshop Completion to let us know that you have finished the workshop and print your certificate of completion.”

The Workshop Evaluation provides workshop facilitators with valuable insights that can lead to increased participant satisfaction and participation in additional workshops. Therefore, we strongly encourage all participants to complete an Evaluation. The Process Workshop Completion activity is the last activity in a Workshop and it serves three purposes:
